Titanium requires a lot of extra finishing work and machining time to get to the same product and we were running into issues with the Model B and early ideas of the C with Titanium. Once we switched to the 7075 Aluminum those issues were resolved and in theory made everything easier to produce more product. As time has gone on, we have experienced issues in the assembly and finishing process with the aluminum that put us right back where we were with timeline. So, Gavin decided to switch over to Titanium since we know how to resolve the issues with more efficiency. That doesn't mean that the aluminum C's that have gone out are bound to fail or anything, issues are resolved before they leave the shop, so I'm speaking strictly in house issues to get a final product completed. I hope this information helps!

Thank you for the info. The all Ti Model C is bada**! I can’t wait to get the base model in my hands. What is the timeframe for delivery of the first drop?

We will start sending out final invoices at the beginning of the year, so shipping will be a week or two after that. Unsure of when the Drop will be over at this time.

Me too. I ordered tumbled blade and hardware. I placed my order within a few minutes of the drop time, so hopefully mine is in the first wave of shipping.

How many will be produced for the 10NOV2022 drop? I ordered the DLC coated version for my dad’s b-day (which was 05NOV2022)…been wanting to get him one for a long time but never lucked out until today!

Bought. the AL model because the way it was conveyed to us was that is was an improvement. Now we learn that wasn't true.

That's not an actuate statement at all. I was hoping it would be an improvement for me in assembly and being able to produce the deadlock in larger numbers to satisfy my customers. In the end I was fighting with the aluminum versions just as much as I was with the titanium. In other words I wasn't making enough money on them. I decided that if I'm going to be fighting the knives I might as well fight an all titanium version. The deadlock is not an easy knife to make. And I saw some early results that showed that switching to aluminum made them easier to make. I was wrong.

From my point of view, the production of the deadlock stands for the greatest possible innovative power from the very beginning. Innovation also means openness to corrections. And I find it great as a customer to experience that Hawk Knives pursue no smaller goal than to produce the perfect OTF

Shipping started early December and everything is going smooth with the Drop so far! We've shipped 20 DLC and 50 Tumbled at this point. Currently we are waiting on DLC parts to continue the building of that option, but are putting together the Tumbled in the mean time to keep production and assembly running as much as we can.

I have a 2021 Model C and it's awesome. It developed a lockup issue and I sent it in for warranty repair and it came back even more awesome. I'm waiting on my Ti C to come and am only sure it will be just as awesome. I mainly wanted the Ti because I prefer tumbled Ti for wear. Anyone tweaked over Aluminum vs. Ti, 1.) this supposed conundrum is very much a 1st world problem; and 2.) from a user standpoint, just enjoy what is an absolutely incredible knife regardless of metal from a maker that stands behind the knife and will repair/correct/improve any issue that warrants it. I look forward to continuing to support the Hawks so long as I can continue to afford to.

I've received a final invoice but it's not for what I ordered and I have tried contacting you guys through this site and your email but have not received any reply so I am reaching out here. I do not want to lose my deposit, but I much more so would like not to send a bunch of money to some scammer who saw my name on a list of purchasers and took a guess and billed me for one. I appreciate your assistance clearing this up.
