March 14th Drop update

5/5/2022

Hey there Hawk fans!  We are well on our way into the 2nd Drop of Model C's and I'm sure you have seen or heard that invoicing and shipping is under way.  The team has been working very hard to keep us on track and get as many completed Model C to you as quickly as possible.  The Standard Carbon Fiber Inlay Option is what we are working through right now so if you are waiting on a Titanium Inlay Option Model C, we will be building those as we have the DLC available.  The last invoice sent out was AB-2834 on 5/2/22 for Standard Carbon Fiber Inlayed deposits.  If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out!

When you state "....we will be building those as we have the DLC available." Does that mean when you have the DLC available or you are building them now as you have the DLC available?
Thank you for all your hard work and time,
David

Hello,

Whoever may read this....does the Model C use T 6 screws on the body? I have one, but the T6 wrench provided with the knife does not fit exactly snug.

The Model B's I have use the larger T8 I believe, and they fit nice & snug.

Maybe someone who has one can provide some insight?

The Hawk team must be busy...so I thought I would reach out to the community for some insight. I'm worried I might strip one...

I appreciate any insight from another user.

Thanks!

T4 is what's on my Model C

Thanks Brian! I think mine might be a T7.
The T6 works, but it is still loose, and I need to hold it at an angle to prevent stripping.

I wonder if various size screws were used and the wrong size wrench was inadvertently included?

Hey Rob, the very first Model C's sent out were technically T6+ so the T6 feels a little loose. Toward the end of the first Model C Drop we got the correct screws in and changed the T6 driver that is sent with the knife so that it should be fitting snug. None of the Model C's put together besides a very few prototypes were T7 and none have ever been T4. If you are having issues though you can always send it into us for a Warranty fix up!

Hey David, what I mean by the DLC being available is the parts have to be shipped off to get the coating after we machine and finish them. There has been some issues with entire batches of parts coming back with flaws in the coating so they have to be shipped back again after refinishing them a second time. As you can imagine the time all of this takes starts to add up, leaving us with a surplus of one small part, and none of another needed to make a complete Deadlock. So far we have invoiced about 30 Titanium Inlay DLC Accented Model C's from the Drop with hopefully more to come very soon!

Are the DLC knives being invoiced in order of deposit order number? I’ve seen a higher AB number already received theirs but I haven’t been invoiced yet.

I wanted to check on the status of my order. I realize there have been issues with the inlays but wanted to ask. Also curious as to when you think the next batch may drop.

Hello
The invoice number that you mentioned up there for which the delivery has already been processed is in a different format than mine. I was wondering if the invoices have to be in similar formats to expect a delivery. I've already placed an order during the second drop but my invoice number is just 3 numbers. Just wanted to know how to interpret that and possibly expect/anticipate much awaited arrival of my model C. Any help or insight much appreciated. Thank you for all that you guys do.
Cheers

The 'order' number for which you originally placed a deposit will not match the 'invoice' number for which you receive a final bill/invoice. This is normal and expected. Sorry if that's not answering your specific issue.

That makes sense. Thank you for clarifying that with me.
Answers my question to a certain extent. Thanks again.

Hello Poojan, the AB-xxxx invoices are from people who were able to put their deposits in from the link. The three letter invoices were from having to send the manual invoicing so it is a little diffiult to estimate where you are in line on this Drop due to the cart having the issues it did.

Hello Brandon
That makes perfect sense now. I wish there was a way to find out when I can anticipate the delivery time but I also understand the hardwork and continuous efforts the workshop must be putting in to meet with everyone's orders. I'll keep a lookout for my remainder payment invoice soon, atleast that way I'd know my order shouldn't be too far from then.
Thank you again for your help.

If you paste your original order number, we may be able to 'crowdsource' the effective status of other orders to give you an idea of when you can expect your final invoice....I think the guys are very busy in the shop and not checking here as often as the expectant new owners.

Unfortunately we do not ship internationally any longer. What a lot of customers do is find a friend or family member that live here in the U.S. that we can ship to, then have them ship it internationally to you! If you have more questions feel free to message me at BladeMaker25@msn.com.

Man I just thought I'd post this.

I have had my model C for 1 year now and my god...... It is literally the most amazing knife I have ever owned. I carry it every day and it still operates as perfectly as the day I bought it.

Grant and Gavin Thank you. Keep doing whatever it is that makes what you do magic.
